Lichen and Lichenicolous Fungi Checklist

The Lichen and Lichenicolous Fungi Checklist contains 2,075 accepted names of lichen and lichenicolous fungi genera, species, and infraspecies that are known to occur in Alaska. Additionally, the Checklist includes 1,088 misapplied names, spelling variants, and synonyms. The Lichen and Lichenicolous Fungi Checklist currently does not contain all synonyms for all accepted names. We have not yet integrated recent monographic work by Spribille et al. (2020). To view the entire Checklist, visit the Comprehensive Checklist. To view the Checklist by major group, visit the Vascular Plant Checklist, the Bryophyte Checklist, or the Lichen Checklist. For more information on the development of the Checklist and a list of citations, refer to the About the Checklist page.

Instructions

Use the filters and search boxes below to explore the checklist. The “All Names” field includes all names that have been applied or misapplied in Alaska for each accepted name. The “Accepted Name” field shows accepted taxa. The “Status” field shows the relationship between the applied/misapplied name and accepted name. The source field contains links for the material from which a name was accepted.

Both name fields can be searched at once by typing queries in the main search block above the table. Other fields can be search for in the main search block as well. For example, life-forms can be searched for by typing “tree”, “shrub”, “dwarf shrub”, “forb”, “graminoid”, etc., into either the main search block or the “Habit” field.

To download the results of a query, select “All” in the number of rows and then click the desired download format. Queries that display thousands of rows may take several minutes to load.
